Pharmacy Refills - FAQ

Please Note:
Refills for all medications should be refilled by the physician
AT THE TIME OF YOUR OFFICE VISIT.

Q. How far in advance should I request a routine refill?
Answer: One (1) week before you need it.

Q. How long should my prescription refill take?
Answer: Minimum of 48 hours, not including weekends.  If prior authorization is required, it may take up to 2 weeks to get a response from the insurance company.

Q. What will my pharmacy need to know?
Answer: In most cases, just the prescription number on your medication is sufficient.

Q. Can you mail my prescription?
Answer: We will forward your mail-away prescription if you send us the information.

Q. What about refills for prednisone or antibiotics?
Answer: No antibiotic or prednisone refills will be approved unless you have spoken with the doctor on call or with the medical assistant.

Q. Is my prescription ready for pickup?
Answer: Please check directly with your pharmacy.  Please do not call the office to check
if it is ready for pick up.

Important Note:  Not all prescriptions can be refilled by phone; some require a visit with your doctor or a new written prescription.
